Abstract
Agricultural cooperatives (ACs) are recognized as significant institutions in the global agricultural sector. The success of agricultural cooperatives in food production and supply exhibits notable variations across different countries. This study aims to comprehensively review the existing literature on ACs using the PRISMA method. Additionally, a methodological framework is proposed to guide future research endeavors. Initially, a detailed analysis was performed on four key aspects of each study, including purposes, methodologies, studied factors, and key findings. Subsequently, the variables within each category were classified to facilitate a more thorough comparative analysis. Our review suggests that the success of ACs depends on effective management, successful marketing strategies, and a dedicated team of members. Education is considered essential regardless of an individual's age or gender. Ultimately, the strategies for achieving success may vary among different cooperatives. It is recommended that targeted research be conducted to obtain precise information on the status of an agricultural cooperative in a specific region or under particular conditions.
